Unsubscribe links are invalid for opt-in links

In the automated emails sent to users added to a campaign via the opt-in link, the unsubscribe link is invalid. Specifically it appears to be missing the server and protocol pieces. Could be a problem with the application of the [unsubscribe] shortcode?
Same campaign, direct signups work as expected: the unsubscribe links in the automated emails point to a working URL.
